4.1 Students describe concepts of culture and use that understanding in their comparison of Hispanic cultures with a second culture other than those.
4.2 Students will analyze and make connections between the perspectives, ways of thinking, behavioral practices, and cultural products of a second culture other than Hispanic cultures.
Reflection:
In this section, I was able to enroll in an HCOM 346 where I learned a new distinct culture and language other than Spanish. I learned the historical context in how the dialect was developing and how it is still continued today as its own dialect. Even though it's still be considered English in the eyes of society, I was able to do research and apply the new knowledge and historical context to understand it was very different dialect than English it was it has its own unique rules that it follows. It was a fascinating course to learn deeply Ebonics in depth and learn its full history through the culture, music, and location.
